School of archaeology to open next month

The first international school offering training courses in archaeology is opening next month, announced Mohamed Abdul Maqsoud, director of Lower Egypt and Sinai Antiquities.
ΚΚΚ The courses are intended to improve excavators' performance and qualify staff to accompany foreign teams.
ΚΚΚ The five-week courses will teach archaeological drawing, topography, restoration and recording techniques.
ΚΚΚ The school will be located at the Sinai Antiquities Scientific Centre in Qantara Sharq. Trainees will have access to fully equipped laboratories.
ΚΚΚ The first group of trainees will be chosen from archaeologists in various departments across the nation, Abdul Maqsoud said.
