213 Israelis refuse to serve in Israeli army

More than 200 young Israelis required to serve the compulsory military service announced they refuse to serve in an "occupation army." According to a patition issued on Tuesday in Jerusalem.

The patition which was signed by some 213 Israeli Jews aging between 15 to 19 year old added "we refuse to be soldiers in an occupation army." A spokesman for the signatories of the patent said that this patent is addressed to the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon; the defense minister Benyamin Ben Eliezer and the minister of education Limore Lifnant.

The signatories accused Israel of "committing war crimes" and "violating human rights" in the occupied Palestinian territories, and supported all forms of rejection to the military service.
