UAE aid to the Palestinians, the Afghans

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Red Crescent society will shortly send foodstuffs and medical aids to the Palestinian and Afghani peoples in the framework of a relief campaign carried out by the society, said Ms. Sanaa Darwish al-Kutubi, the secretary general of the UAE Red Crescent
The UAE official news agency quoted al-Kutubi as saying that an UAE plane was due to leave for Kabul yesterday ( Tuesday) loaded with 40 tons of palms to be distributed on the needy people in Afghanistan before the fall of the fasting month of Ramadan.
She added that a delegation from the society will accompany the plane in order to discuss with the Afghani officials the needs of the Afghani people and the possibility of providing relief requirements of foodstuffs from local markets.
She continued that another UAE plane will transport next week medical and relief aid to the Palestinian people in the occupied territories via Jordan.
She indicated that the UAE Red crescent donated several cars to help the Red Crescent societies in Lebanon, Syria, the Palestinian territories and Bahrain.
