Kuwait: Amir pardons four Iraqi women detained since 1991

Kuwait's Amir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah on Monday issued a pardon to four Iraqi women prisoners years before the end of their imprisonment sentences, over their collaboration during the 7 months of the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait between 1990- 1991.
The al-Watan daily said that the authorities of women's prison "started to transport the women prisoners to the release center in the prison." The women prisoners are, according to the paper "artist Zanouba, better known as Zeinab Dahi; Ibtisam Dakhil, Samira Jum'a and Ansar al-Jalati." The paper added that cooperation will be made with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to arrange their deportation from Kuwait to Iraq through a third country.
However, a relief official said that talks are being made with the released women as to the country they want to head for. The four women were sentenced differently to periods of time approximately reaching 25 years.
