Gulf agriculture secretaries meet in Riyadh

The secretaries of agriculture in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will discuss on Tuesday and Wednesday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, means of strengthening cooperation and integration between the GCC member states in the agricultural, livestock and fishery areas.
A press statement issued on Sunday in Riyadh, by the GCC general secretariat in Riyadh, explained that the participants will discuss the mechanism of facilitating the flow of imported agricultural and livestock commodities among the GCC member states and locations of border crossings adopted for the entry of these commodities after the foundation of the customs federation due to start by the beginning of January 2003.
The participants will also discuss the executive lists of the agricultural and veterinary quarantine, besides steps that were taken to start the comprehensive survey of fish in the waters of the Arab Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
