The Russian news agency Etar Tass on Friday quoted its correspondent in Cairo as saying that the leaders of Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan are intending to invite the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, jointly to permit the UN inspectors to enter the Iraqi territories in order to ensure the guarantee of security of all the Arab states. Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher asserted on Thursday that any strike against Iraq would worsen hatred and anger feelings among Arabs and would eventually create unstable Middle East. He told Time magazine, that the former Soviet Union and the US are responsible for the formation of terrorist organizations in Afghanistan, pointing out that both countries provided such organizations with fund and weapons. A group of non-governmental associations, gathered in a watchdog on elections, called authorities to apply the electoral law "rigorously" to guarantee the sincerity and security of the coming legislative poll, to be held September 27. The "Collectif Associatif pour l'Observation des Elections" is a NGO made up of twenty associations acting in local development, women, youth and culture, aims to foster citizens' awareness and involvement in the electoral process.
