Bush intention for war against Saddam Hussein are not personal
Iraq-USA, Politics, 9/14/2002
An American official has stressed that the US President George Bush has no personal feelings against the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein whom he wants to topple.
In his speech on Thursday before the UN General Assembly, Bush said that in 1993, Saddam Hussein organized an assassination attempt against the ruler of Kuwait and a former US President, but without referring that the matter relates to his father George Bush.
News reports quoted the official who asked to be anonymous on Friday saying "certainly, no one wants to convert this case into a personal matter, and what is important that he was a former President for the US, stressing this was the point President Bush wants to concentrate (on)."
An assassination attempt against President Bush, the father, by a booby trapped car was disclosed in 1993 during a visit he had made to Kuwait. The US claimed that investigations showed that the Iraqi president was behind that attempt.
