Saudi Arabia: A commission to monitor charity societies

Saudi Arabia's minister of the interior Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz has announced that Riyadh has formed a commission in charge of monitoring activities of the Islamic charity societies, some of which are accused by the U.S. of financing terrorism.
In a press interview on Wednesday, Nayef said that that the supreme Saudi commission for relief and charity works was formed to have under its patronage all acts of relief so as to be completely aware and acknowledged that the aid reaches its intended beneficiaries immediately and is used for the set purposes.
Prince Nayef said that the Saudi charity societies have no links to terrorism and "we are sure of what we are saying."
The Saudi minister of the interior unveiled that Riyadh released 6 of the detainees who are suspected of being members of al-Qaida organization who were handed over earlier by Iran to Saudi Arabia.
The minister explained "we have received from the Iranian brothers 14 men and after investigating their situation, 6 of them were released and the others are still under investigations.
Nayef explained that no evidence was proved on their links to al-Qaida organization, noting that Saudi Arabia was handed over 7 children and 3 women who were released immediately for their families.
Recently, Yemen handed over Saudi Arabia several wanted Saudis in various security cases. He added that there are 127 Saudis detained in the American Guantanamo base in Cuba. He said that one Saudi team was sent to investigate conditions behind arresting them. He refused to disclose further details.
