Gabon renews support to Morocco's territorial integrity
Morocco-Gabon, Politics, 9/12/2002
Gabon on Wednesday renewed "resolved and constant attachment to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco."
This came in a joint release made public at the end of a friendship and brotherhood visit King Mohammed VI paid to Gabon.
President Haj Omar Bango of Gabon renewed "Gabon's unconditional backing to a political solution guaranteeing Morocco's territorial integrity and national sovereignty within the perspective of a peaceful and lasting settlement to the Sahara issue."
President Bango also requested "the liberation of Moroccan prisoners still detained in deplorable conditions in the camps of Tindouf" in Algeria.
King Mohammed VI made a stop-over Tuesday in Gabon on his way back to Morocco from Johannesburg, South Africa, where he participated in the World Summit on Sustainable Development 26 August-September 4.
