CIA members arrive shortly to train Palestinians in Areiha
Palestine-USA, Politics, 9/12/2002

The Israeli dailies on Tuesday said that it is presumed that CIA personnel will arrive within the few coming days to Palestinian areas in order to start training 20 Palestinian army officers.

Political sources said that there are talks on a preliminary phase to implement the US plan for reforms in the Palestinian security establishment and that the matter is made through full coordination with Israel.

The sources said that the American officers will train their Palestinian counterparts in an establishment in Areiha, and the training will concentrate on fighting terrorism.

According to the sources, the Palestinian officers will be trained in other specialties in advanced stages at the hands of Egyptian and Jordanian officers at an American supervision.
