Blair: Iraq will be attacked if it ignores the will of the UN
Iraq-UK, Politics, 9/12/2002
British Prime Minister Tony Blair said in a speech before the conference of the British Trade Union federation that "there will be a move" against Iraq if it refuses to abide by the will of the UN.
Blair said, on the first anniversary on the attacks of September 11 against the USA and after he had met on Saturday with the US President George Bush in Camp David, "I think that dealing with Saddam Hussein via the UN is a correct matter." But the British prime minister added " Let everyone know that there will be no new conditions, no new tricks, or new doubts in the authorities of the UN" by Baghdad. He also continued "Let everyone also know that the move will be made if the will of the UN will be ignored."
He explained that the challenge that all are facing in the UN is that the UN has to challenge the threats constituted by Saddam, and not avoid it.
