Pope Shenouda: September 11 is not the responsibility of the whole world
Egypt-USA, Politics, 9/11/2002

Egypt's Pope of Alexandria and al-Karraza, patriarch Shenouda III, has called for that the whole world should not pay the attacks of September 11 against the USA.

The Egyptian daily al-Ahram quoted Pope Shenouda as saying that what happened on September 11 was a crime that is unforgivable by any one and its responsibility should be shouldered by those who committed it, rather the world as a whole.

He indicated that "the death of large number of innocent peoples is a crime, undoubtedly." Pope Shenoda said that an Egyptian Copt was killed in Los Angeles in 2001 in a revenge action several days after September 11 attacks. He questioned "do you know why he was killed? because his relations were strong with Muslims and he had amity ties with several sheikhs visiting his shop."
