Confidence is keyword in upcoming elections, minister

Moroccan interior minister, Driss Jettou, said the legislative elections of September 27 are held as Moroccans have confidence in their institutions, in their government and in themselves.
The minister, who was speaking at an information day for journalists, stressed that confidence is the keyword in the coming elections.
Jettou added that all human and material means have been mobilized to ensure "transparent and credible elections in order to lead to undisputed institutions and a strong government." A budget ranging between 300 and 400 million DH will be needed in addition to the funds allocated by the ministry, prefectures, provinces and communes nationwide, he said.
He also denied press reports that some are holding early campaigns, explaining that political parties have been busy for months in the preparation, motivation and mobilization of their members for thee voting.
However, he went on, if any breaches are found, all the appropriate measures provided for by the law will be taken in order to gather conditions of transparence and credibility.
