Egypt keens to boost ties with Iran
Egypt-Iran, Politics, 9/9/2002

"Egypt is keen to improve relations with Iran," head of People's Assembly foreign relation committee, Dr. Mustafa el-Fekki said during a lecture on Egyptian-Iranian relations at the Institute of Economic and Political Sciences.

ΚΚΚ "Egypt has made much effort to remove obstacles to forging warm ties with Iran. At present, cooperation seems to be a 'one-way street,' which we find unacceptable and ineffective. However, the Iranians have expressed concern on the situation in the Middle East mediation, but this is not enough. The key to rectifying this state of affairs is closer cooperation ties," el-Fekki said.

ΚΚΚ "Iran is preparing for a real change in its policy towards America. If Iran seeks better relations with the US, it should first work on forging stronger links with Egypt," he said.
