Iraq urges US to granting its officials entry visa to take part in UN GA meetings
Iraq-USA, Politics, 9/7/2002

Iraq on Friday called on the American authorities to accelerate the process of granting the Iraqi delegation chaired by the foreign minister Naji Sabri entry visas to the United States in order to take part in the meetings of the UN General Assembly due to be held in New York.

The Iraqi news agency said that Iraq's representative to the meetings of the 57th session of the UN General Assembly, Muhammad Salman, expressed his hope that the tense political relations between the US and Iraq will not be reflected at preventing these visas especially as few days are so far left for the convening of the UNGA meetings.

Salman said that entry visas to the US take now between 50 to 60 days while in the past it did not exceed 15 days, considering that unjustified and of politically motivated.
