Qathafi: If Iraq is attacked it will become Afghanistan
Libya-Iraq, Politics, 9/6/2002

Libya's Leader of the Revolution Colonel Muammar al Qathafi has warned against directing a military action against Iraq so as Iraq will not be transformed into a second Afghanistan and a center for Osama Bin Laden, noting that he will devote himself for the Islamic and African affairs.

In statements to the press earlier this week, he said that America's striking of Iraq will drag the region into a new Crusaders war, and" Iraq will be like Afghanistan, and if Iraq collapses it will be a center for Taliban, Osama Bin Laden, the Muslim brothers and the Chenchens and thereby become another base like Afghanistan."

Qathafi, on the other hand, said he will devote his time to the Islamic and African affairs with the aim to "take the Islamic worlds out of the cage of accusation, and to prevent the occurrence of a new Crusaders War."
