Plan to market Egyptian cotton in US, Japan

"The Ministry of Foreign Trade is working on a comprehensive plan for marketing Egyptian cotton in the US, Japanese and European markets," Egypt's Minister Youssef Boutros Ghali said yesterday, adding that the plan will involve an intensive advertising campaign to get consumers there acquainted with the various advantages of Egyptian cotton.
ΚΚΚ "One of the most challenging obstacles hindering Egyptian cotton exports to these markets is that consumers there are not aware of the high quality of Egyptian cotton; nor can they differentiate it from other cottons", the minister explained. He also stressed that the Ministry registered the trademark for Egyptian cotton, when it was discovered that other countries' cotton was being passed off and sold as Egyptian.
ΚΚΚ Meanwhile, deals have been concluded with 32 countries to export more than 2 million kantars of Egyptian cotton.
