Khaddam conveys a message from al-Assad to Chirac

Syrian Vice President Abdul Halim Khaddam arrived in Paris on Tuesday carrying a message from the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to his French counterpart Jacques Chirac, according to a well-informed political Syrian source.
The source said that the message which Khaddam carries to Chirac "pertains to the tense conditions in the region and bilateral relations between the two friendly countries Syria and France." Chirac is due to receive Khaddam tomorrow.
