Morocco's dams filled at 54.8% by end of june

The volume of water stored in Moroccan dams was assessed at 54.8% of the reservoirs capacity by the end of June 2002, In comparison with 51.3% at the same period last year, according to figures displayed by the ministry of equipment.
The ministry said rainfalls between September 2001 and June 2002 recorded a 57% deficit with 5.11 million m3 in comparison with the average supply of the same period.
The deficit was recorded in all parts of Morocco (between -52% and -100%), with the exception of the region of Tiznit.
