Qatari - Moroccan talks on Morocco's candidacy to host 2010 football world cup

Morocco's candidacy to host the 2010 football world cup was at the center of talks in Rabat Friday between Moroccan minister of youth and sports, Ahmed Moussaoui, and visiting chairman of the Qatari football federation, Sheikh Khalifa Ibn Hassan Al Thani.

Moussaoui briefed his interlocutor on the sporting facilities existing or underway in Morocco.

Talks also covered means of enhancing relations between the two states in the field of sports and the possibility to set up in Morocco a Moroccan-Qatari center for staff and athletes training.

Sheikh Khalifa had also conferred with Chairman of the Moroccan Royal Federation of Football (FRMF), Housni Benslimane, on ways of fostering cooperation between the two federations, particularly on aspects of football practice and management.

Sheikh Khalifa Ibn Hassan Al Thani, who started his visit to Morocco on Thursday will attend the friendly match to be played on September 4 between the Moroccan and Qatari Olympic teams in Rabat.
