Yemeni parliamentary delegation in Damascus

The speaker of the Yemeni parliament Abdullah Hussein al-Ahmar and the accompanying delegation arrived in Damascus on Sunday and was welcomed by the speaker of the Syrian parliament Abdul Qader Qaddoura, PA officials and the Yemeni ambassador in Damascus.
In an arrival statement to SANA, al-Ahmar commended the firm relations linking the two states in various fields especially on the parliamentary area. He stressed that these relations are very old and eternal and the two states are careful to consolidate them for the interests of the two peoples.
Replying to a question on the 42nd emergency session of the Arab Parliamentary Union council which will be held in Baghdad and the main issues to be discussed during it, al- Ahmar said "this meeting will be dedicated to discuss means of challenging the threats Iraq is facing, latest developments of conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories and the grave onslaughts the Arab nation is facing."
