Some 6000 textile employees taught to read
Morocco, Economics, 8/29/2002
Some 5900 employees in the sector of textile and garments benefited from a practical alphabetization program by the Moroccan Office of Professional Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT). The program aims at giving illiterate employees literacy courses adapted to their needs so that they contribute to the growth of their firms, facilitate these firms' certification and foster communication within them, the OFPPT said.
The program, backed by international specialized assistance, uses handbooks conceived for this special purpose.
The employees who underwent the program work in 135 enterprises in Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Meknes, Tangier, Tetouan, Marrakesh and Settat. (MAP)IS/
