Sudan-Regional, Politics, 8/29/2002

The secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa said on Wednesday that the Mashakos agreement signed between the Sudanese government and the Sudan rebel movement does not constitute a threat to the Arab national security.

He indicated that the meeting of the Arab League council due to be held at the level of the foreign ministers in Cairo on September 4th will listen to a detailed report on the Sudanese file from the Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael. He explained that the council will take a decision stressing preserving Sudan's unity and the need of revitalizing the fund for support construction and development in its south.
