Al-Assad, King of Bahrain talks on revitalizing solidarity

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad and the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday held a bilateral meeting during which they completed their talks which started on Tuesday.
On Wednesday afternoon, the King left Damascus following a two day visit to Syria. In a pre departure statement he said that his meeting with President Bashar al-Assad was an opportunity to review developments on the regional and international arenas that require taking a united position through which the region's security and stability can be maintained.
The king stressed Bahrain's unwavering position on the need of Israel's withdrawal from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights until June 4, 1967 lines and the parts remaining under occupation in the Shebaa farms in South Lebanon and that just and comprehensive peace can be only attained through the full implementation of the international legitimacy resolutions especially resolutions 242 and 338 provide for Israel's withdrawal from all occupied Arab lands of 1967 and the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as a capital.
The king added "based on our care to preserve Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity, we in Bahrain and Syria oppose any military move against it and appeal, simultaneously the Iraqi leadership to abide by UN resolutions concerned and to collaborate accordingly to avoid the Iraqi people more tension and sufferings.
