Al-Assad discusses with Ramadan bilateral relations, Arab conditions

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday in Damascus received the Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan and members of the accompanying delegation. The delegation includes the minister of commerce Muhammad Mahdi Saleh, the minister of transport Ahmad Murtada and the minister of industry and minerals.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro and the advisor for the Iraqi vice president and the chairman of the Iraqi interests section in Damascus.
Discussions dealt with means of strengthening bilateral relations in all fields and conditions and developments on the Arab arena.
In this regard, al-Assad stressed Syria's stand in support of Iraq and its opposition to threats against it. The president also stressed Syria's care to strengthen Arab solidarity against all challenges hatched against the Arab nation.
Ramadan arrived in Damascus earlier in the day in a visit to Syria during which he presides over the Iraqi side to the meetings of the joint Syrian- Iraqi higher committee.
Later a meeting was held between Ramadan and Miro attended by members of the delegations representing the two sides. The participants discussed fraternal relations and means of developing and supporting them in all fields and the agenda of the Syrian- Iraqi joint higher committee.
