Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz has stressed the need that any solution for the Middle East question should be based on justice, equity and international legitimacy resolutions.

In a telephone call he had received from the US President George. W. Bush, the Saudi crown prince said that the Arab states did their best concerning peace efforts crowned by the Arab peace initiative. Efforts, that will achieve set objectives, if they are supported by the USA.

The Saudi news agency which reported the news on Tuesday said that the crown prince expressed to the American president his regret together with the Saudi people over the catastrophe the Palestinians face under the repression of the Israeli occupation.

For his part, the Bush stressed during the telephone call continued efforts made by his government in order to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East region. He indicated that his position which calls for the foundation of an independent Palestinian state falls in the context of the priorities of the American policy, not only for the stability of the region, rather for the conviction held by the US that its interests make it imperative for the USA to carry out such an important role.

The US President commended the solid Saudi- American relations. He said that all what has been recently rumored on the negative relations between the two countries is but "irresponsible words and at any rate do not reflect the reality of these relations nor embody their solidarity and strength." He added that debates on that matter only reflect views of those who say it.
