Bahrain-Morocco, Politics, 8/27/2002
King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, arrived in Rabat on Saturday on a private visit to Morocco at the invitation of King Mohammed VI.
Sheikh Hamad expressed joy, in a statement to reporters, to pay "this friendly visit to Morocco" to meet King Mohammed VI who symbolizes, he said, "the birth of a new Morocco and of its young mounting generations.
Great hopes are pinned on the mounting generations in the whole Arab nation which spares no effort to secure them conditions for a life in dignity and freedom. "This is one of the outstanding topics on which we focus our talks with H.M. King Mohammed VI whenever we meet," Sheikh Hamad said.
Touching on bilateral cooperation, the Bahraini King expressed satisfaction at the package of cooperation agreements signed in the framework of the Moroccan-Bahraini high joint commission since 2000, undertaking to back the commission actions to serve the two brotherly peoples' shared interests.
The king of Bahrain also lauded the results of cultural cooperation and political coordination between Morocco and Bahrain, and said the two states will spare no effort unless peace is established in the region, a peace guaranteeing the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people and of all the peoples in the region.
He added that efforts will equally be continued unless the Arab-Islamic Ummah is freed from all confrontations imposed on it and unless this Ummah starts more equitable relations with the others and reactivates its positive contribution to the march of humankind progress.
