Jweili: Joint Arab customs law draft agreement

The secretary general of the Arab economic unity council at the Arab League Ahmad Jweili has announced that the council has already completed drafting the Arab customs law and the agreement that provides for avoiding double taxation and preventing escaping taxes imposed on income and capital.
In press statements in Cairo on Monday Jweili explained that the agreement aims at encouraging investment and the transfer of persons and capitals among the Arab states through avoiding double taxation.
He indicated that Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Sudan and Jordan have ratified this agreement.
Jweili indicated in a message he had sent to the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa that the united customs law and the agreement provides for avoiding double taxation will be debated on the agenda of the works of the social and economic council during its next meeting.
