Gulf states to discuss US threats against Iraq

A well-informed Kuwaiti source said that the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Muscat will host on September 2 and 3 will deal with several issues necessitated by recent developments in the Gulf area.
It was disclosed in Kuwait that Minister of State For Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah will preside over his country's delegation to the meetings of the ordinary session, whose session will be presided over the minister in charge of foreign affairs in Oman Youssef Bin Alawi Bin Abdullah.
The United Arab Emirates UAE al-Bayan daily quoted the source as saying that the meetings will also deal with consultations concerning issues relating to various political and economic aspects and the peace process in the region, the developments of events in the occupied Palestinian territories and the possibilities of the military confrontations between the US and Iraq and the implications of what will take place on the Arab arena as well as various issues listed on the agenda of the Arab foreign ministers due to be held in Cairo on September 4 and 5.
The well-informed source indicated that the meeting of the GCC foreign ministers in Muscat will be rich in several issues and matters of mutual concern, especially those relating to economic, cultural and social cooperation among the gulf member states.
