Message from al-Assad to Mubarak on unifying Arab position

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak received on Thursday at Marsa Matrouh city the Syrian deputy prime minister and foreign minister Farouk al- Shara. The meeting was attended by the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher.
During the meeting al-Shara conveyed a message from President Bashar al-Assad to President Mubarak relating to current developments on the regional and international arenas and the need of uniting Arab position towards current challenges for preserving the supreme Arab interests.
On Wednesday, the Saudi defense minister Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz received in Jeddah the Syrian foreign minister. Discussions dealt with Arab conditions in light of current challenges and strengthening of bilateral relations between the two sisterly countries.
Egyptian foreign minister stressed the importance of Syrian- Egyptian cooperation in the interests of Arab objectives and the service of Arab interests.
