Yemen: some 14 persons killed, wounded in Tribal clashes

The security authorities in Aden have accused one member of the local council in the city named Fadel Ali Awad of trying to topple the regime.
A statement by the people's committee in defense of Muhammad al-Beijani said that a group of security men arrested Fadel Ali Awad and another person, Hakeem Abdullah Yahya on Tuesday as they were leaving a meeting for the local council of Daar Saad directorate in the city of Aden. The statement indicated that Awad was collecting signatures of citizens against what was described by the statement concerning the behaviors of the governor of Aden Taha Ahmad Ghanem in violation of the law and the constitution.
Meantime, four persons were killed and other ten wounded in tribal clashes that took place in one of Zammar province area which is 100 Km to the South of Sanaa.
The people's al-Rai al-Am paper said that the fighting erupted on Monday between the tribes of Bani al-Azizi and Touban in al-Hada' directorate in Zammar province and the two sides used various types of light and heavy weapons. The paper added that several houses were demolished after they were hit by mortar and RBJ artillery used by the two conflicting sides.
The paper said that a military and security campaign from the province's security leadership and the Republican Guards force headed to the fighting area and reinforced with tanks to stop the fighting and end the clashes.
