Israeli forces violate Lebanese sovereignty, southern areas bombarded

The Israeli forces on Tuesday bombarded the liberated Lebanese areas close to the border line, at a time when these forces introduced new fortifications on the positions close to the line drawn by the UN to the Lebanese border with Israel.

Lebanese security sources said the Israelis fired 155 mm caliber shells against the southern outskirts of Burket al-Naqqar near Shebaa. The bombardment also targeted al-Saddanh mountain and coincided with heavy shelling at the eastern sides of Bastara farm from the Israeli positions in the occupied Shebaa farms.

The Eastern heights of Kafer Shouba town and the surrounding of Burket Baathayel and Bawabat Hassan were also exposed to similar shelling from al-Sammaqa position.

The Israeli forces started new fortifications in al-Radar position in Jabal al-Sheikh heights similar to the fortifications installed at Rweisat al-Alam.

The sources indicated that similar fortifications were held by the Israeli forces in al-Fawara and the skiing center, while intensive Israeli patrols were seen along the border line between al-Matalla settlement and the course of al-Wazzani river through Tallet al-Omra, Ballana and al- Hammari.

Meantime, the Lebanese national resistance announced that the Israeli forces violated the Lebanese sovereignty ten times between August 13 and 19.

In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said that the Israeli warplanes violated the Lebanese airspace seven times while the gunboats violated the Lebanese territorial waters three times during the same period of time and that the Israeli violations of the Lebanese sovereignty reached 5156 since June 17, 2000.
