King Mohammed amnesties 493 detainees

Morocco's King Mohammed VI granted pardon to 493 persons serving prison sentences on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People, to be marked on Tuesday.
Some 127 of the detainees were granted free pardon on what remains of their terms, 332 had their terms commuted and one had his life jail term commuted to a limited term.
Twenty-eight persons had their jail sentences cancelled while their fines were maintained and five had their sentence and fines cancelled.
