Sudanese leadership changes; opposition members part of government

Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir on Monday issued three Presidential decrees. The first states to appoint Mubarak al-Fadel al-Mahdi the chairman of "Tayar al-Islah Wal Tajdid " ( Reforms and renewal trend) in the opposition Umma party as an assistant for the President. The second decree states to appoint Ali Hassan Taj as the advisor for the President, and the third decree to found two new ministries for electricity and tourism and national heritage.

Al-Bashir also issued a fourth decree according to which Mahdi Ibrahim, the minister of information and contacts, Abdul Baset Abdul Majid, the minister of culture and tourism, Ali Tamim Fartak, the minister of education, and Karam Abdul Mawla, the minister of international co-operation were exempted from their posts. The decree also stated to appoint other ministers as follows: Abdul Baset Abdul Majid as a minister of culture; Ali Tamim Fartak as a minister of electricity; Karam eddine Abdul Mawla as a minister at the Cabinet; al-Zahrawi Ibrahim Malik as a minister of information and telecommunications, Ahmad Babaker Nahar as a minister of education, Abdul Jalil al-Basha as a minister of tourism and national heritage and Youssef Suleiman Takneh as a minister of international cooperation.

The President also issued another decree to appoint three ministers of state at the foreign ministry, culture and agriculture and forestry.
