Mrs. Mubarak to attend foundation stone ceremony for Civilization Museum in Fustat

Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak, will attend on December 14 a major celebration marking the laying down of the cornerstone of the new National Civilization museum for Antiquities in Al-Fustat area.
ΚΚΚ The new museum is due to turn the area into a distinguished cultural and tourist site showcasing the Pharaonic, Islamic, Christian and Jewish civilizations.
ΚΚΚ Minister of Culture Farouq Hosni said the celebration will be attended by a large number of world, Arab and Egyptian figures, including UNESCO director Koichiro Matsura.
ΚΚΚ He said the museum will be established on an area of about 22 feddans near Lake Ein El Sira, which will become part of the project site and a unique tourist landmark overlooking Amr Ibn El Aas mosque, the Hanging Church and Ezra synagogue.
