Morocco's ports traffic rises by 7.7% in 2001

Traffic in Morocco's ports reached 57.5 million tons in 2001, i.e. a 7.7% rise in comparison with 2000.

Imports went up from 29.5 million tons in 2000 to 32.5 million tons in 2001, which is a 10.3% rise.

Exportations went up from 23.9 million tons in 2000 to 25 million tons in 2001, i.e. a 4.5% rise.

Casablanca port's share in the global traffic was of 35% with 20.1 million tons, followed by Mohammedia port with 11.1% million tons, Jorf Lasfar with 9.9 million tons, Safi with 5 million tons and Laayoune and Tangiers (3 million tons each).
