Ebeid advises who escaped with banks money to return home
Egypt, Economics, 8/16/2002

Egypt's Prime Minister Atef Ebeid advised those who escaped away money or failed to pay back their debts to take the initiative and settle their debts so as to resume their businesses.

"He is wrong who thinks that he will take the money away or refrain from repaying his/her debts," Ebeid asserted.

Ebeid in exclusive remarks to Al Gomhuria newspaper said a committee would be formed in all banks to be in charge of revision and studying every case for reaching a compromise with those who are ready to settle their debts.

Ebeid concluded by saying that his government is not interested in bringing a legal action against those stumbling borrowers whether they are living in Egypt or abroad, rather the government considers reaching a compromise is better.
