Fadlullah forbids helping the US to attack Iraq
Lebanon-Iraq, Politics, 8/14/2002
A "Fatwa" (a religious instruction) was issued on Monday by the spiritual leader of the Shiite community in Lebanon Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah provided for forbidding supporting the US in a likely attack against Iraq, according to a statement issues by the Sheikh's press office.
Fadlullah stressed, in his capacity as a Shiite reference who has the authority to issue "Fatwas," that it is forbidden to support the US and its allies to strike Iraq or enable them ( the US and its allies ) from controlling its economic potentials, natural resources and public policy because "the Almighty God forbids helping the non believers ( al-Kafereen ) against Muslims and the arrogant against the weak."
