The Sudanese news agency said that the coordination council at the ruling national congress party put, in a meeting held on Saturday under the chairmanship of President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, the final touches on the government's scenarios for peace negotiations with the people's movement led by John Garang.

The agency said that the council provided the delegation which is headed by the minister of state for peace affairs Idris Muhammad Abdul Qader several instructions that are conducive to the success of the negotiations.

The agency quoted the Sudanese charge de affairs in Nairobi al-Dardiri Ahmad as saying that the negotiations will continue until September 14 with the possibility of extending or shortening the time "in line with the progress of negotiations" that will be achieved. He said that the two sides will discuss issues relating to the distribution of wealth and the authority, human rights and the superiority of the law and judicial and military arrangements during the provisional period, which is 6 year time as well as cease fire.

The agency added quoting Ismael that he had informed his Egyptian counterpart Ahmad maher during a telephone call on Saturday al-Bashir's recommendations to "coordinate" with Egypt.

The Sudanese minister of information Mahdi Ibrahim expressed his hope that the people's movement will have "the same care for the interests of Sudan and its people." He told journalists "I think that the spirit which prevailed during Maccus agreement on the two sides will be greater to be affected by the frequent military provocation between the two sides." On the other hand, al-Bashir said that the government is ready to halt the military operations with the exception of the self-defense cases and this will be for the aim to help in establishing peace in the country which is torn by war.
