Saud al-Faisal: we reject war against Iraq

The Saudi foreign minister Prince Saud al-Faisal has stressed that Saudi Arabia will not take part in the war against Iraq and he asked the US to give an opportunity to diplomatic efforts.
In an interview with the US ABC broadcast, and covered by the Saudi news agency on Sunday, the Saudi foreign minister said that it is wise to give diplomatic efforts the opportunity to work towards achieving its objectives before going to war. "And this is what we ask the US for," he said.
The Saudi foreign minister indicated that the foreign forces in his country are for reinforcing the implementation of the no-fly zones over Iraq, according to UN resolutions, stressing these forces will stay in Saudi Arabia for that purpose.
Saudi Arabia has recently announced that it will not permit the use of its lands for attacking Iraq.
