Osiris'priest Pharaonic cemetery unearthed on Egypt - Alexandria highway

Egypt's Culture Minister Farouk Hosni said that the Supreme Council of Antiquities mission that is resumed excavations east of Cairo -Alexandria highway discovered a Pharaonic cemetery containing a number of ancient tombs.
ÊÊÊ The unearthed tombs date back to late ancient Egyptian age 712-332 B.C. and continued to the Graeco Roman age.
ÊÊÊ The Minister said this is the first time to make excavations in this area and that works will continue to reveal the secrets of this new area.
ÊÊÊ Supreme Council of Antiquates Secretary General Zahi Hawas said that a golden ring carrying the name of tomb's owner-the priest of Osiris was found in addition to many rock-hewn tombs and 220 statues and remains of human bones.
