Works in Aswan suspension bridge end by late August
Egypt, Local, 8/10/2002
Works in the Aswan suspension bridge over River Nile will finish up by the end of this month.
The new bridge interlinks Toshka, Sharq Al-Ewinat, Aswan and the Red Sea. The bridge, serving various economic and tourist activities in Aswan, will interlink the two rivers banks with the eastern and western deserts, and will open in October festivals.
On his part, Samir Zahran, Aswan governorate Secretary-General, said the 3.5-kilometer-long bridge would help establish a new nine kilometer-long Corniche in Aswan that would open alongside with the bridge.
