Israeli airline refuses to transport 20 Arabs carrying Israeli nationality
Egypt-Israel, Local, 8/10/2002

The Israeli airliner al-Al on Thursday refused to transport 20 Israeli-Arab passengers of from Cairo airport after they had defended one passenger woman attacked by security men in the said Israeli airline.

Security sources at the airport said that passenger Amal Muhammad Aghbareya, of Israel's Arabs, and carrying the Israeli nationality was surprised while finalizing her travel measures on flight 444 heading for Tel Aviv of a security man from the company informing her that she can not travel on the flight, although there are many vacant seats.

The woman as she tried to inquire why she was not permitted to take the plane was pushed by the Israel security man and fell to the ground and as a result a row took place between the 20 passengers ( Arabs carrying the Israeli nationality) and seven security men at the airport.

The 20 passengers were taken to one of Cairo's hotels after the Israeli airliner refused to transport them. The plane took off carrying only 106 passengers although its loading capacity is 123 passengers.

The flight between Cairo and Tel Aviv takes 45 minutes but because of the current tense situation in the region, security travel measures might take hours. Some times the passengers are retuned back home and not permitted to travel.
