Morocco, Politics, 8/9/2002
The Moroccan Human Rights Association (OMDH) on Tuesday condemned the "criminal acts" perpetrated by extremists groups against citizens on grounds of "Fatwas."
The association stresses the necessity of ensuring the protection of citizens and calls for ending the use of religion and mosques for political aims, or ones contrary to principles of human rights and values of equality, dignity and tolerance.
Police in Casablanca on Tuesday dismantled a criminal gang, operating under the orders of a network that calls itself "Salafia Jihadia."
The gang had committed crimes, including six murders, firearms ownership and sequestration.
