Media cooperation agreement between Syria, Tunisia

An official source in Tunisia said that a cooperation agreement was signed between the Africa Tunisian news agency and the Syrian Arab News Agency SANA in conclusion of a visit held by the Syrian minister of information Adnan Omran to Tunisia.
The two news agencies agreed to explore best modern media technologies with the aim of exchanging news bulletin regularly and to broadcast their services in Tunisia and Syria.
During his visit to Tunisia, the Syrian information minister Adnan Omran held several meetings with the Tunisian information and human rights minister Fatehi al-Hweidi.
The two sides called for revitalizing media cooperation programs linking the two states until 2003 and to intensify the exchange of programs between the radio and TV establishments in the two states.
The Syrian minister also visited the headquarters of ALECSO ( the Arab League for Education, Culture and Scientific Organization ) which takes Tunis as a headquarters.
Omran's talks with ALECSO's chief al-Minji Bu Sninah dealt with current activities and future programs drawn by ALESCO as well as the efforts made to modernize its work means in the member states especially through installing an Arab media networking using the "Arab Sat."
