Saudi media criticize 'Christian extremism' in the USA
Saudi Arabia-USA, Politics, 8/9/2002

Two Saudi dailies, Al-Watan and Saudi Gazette, on Thursday criticized the "Christian extremism which has been on the increase" in the USA, after the Washington Post on Tuesday talked about a meeting held in the Pentagon during which Saudi Arabia was described as an "enemy."

Al-Watan said "Christian extremism" is of no less danger to world security and peace than claimed extremism alleged in other religions., and that "its danger will be much greater if it controls the policy of a country like the USA."

The paper indicated that "a group of Christian men of religion and politicians is using political pressure on the American administration in a way to ensure the realization of prophecies. They constitute a grave danger on the Middle East peace process because they stand as a bulwark before any peace initiative that will solve the Palestinian question, peacefully."
