Israeli fears of infiltration from Jordan by Palestinian resistance fighters
Palestine-Jordan, Politics, 8/8/2002
The Israeli radio announced on Wednesday that an important road extending along the Jordanian borders was closed on Wednesday for fears of infiltration of a " terrorist" armed group to Israel.
The radio explained that the road which runs through Wadi Araba to the south of the Dead Sea to Eilat port was closed for traffic.
Israeli military sources said the Israeli army reinforced its forces in this sector to face any possibility. The sources added that five "terrorists" approached the Israeli border from the Jordanian side, and that one of them was arrested by the Jordanian military. The Jordanian authorities gave no information on the detention process.
