Israel's supreme court allow house demolition; two Palestinians killed
Palestine-Israel, Military, 8/7/2002

An Israeli Apache plane on Tuesday morning killed Palestinians near Jeigh village in Jenin. Palestinian sources said that the bodies of the two Palestinians Ali Ajjouri (35 year old) and Raed Mahshoud ( 25 year old) were found near the village after they were directly hit by the shells.

Meantime, the Israeli forces broke by military vehicles and tanks and to al-Qarrara area to the east of Gaza and blocked the roads leading to it. It imposed curfew and cordoned several houses and forced the men to gather at the school's yard and arrested 47 of them.

The Israeli forces arrested three citizens in Rafah following an inspection operation and arrested one citizen at Beit Hanoun crossing from Beir Nabeir village to the north west of Jerusalem. Other 150 Palestinians were arrested by the Israeli forces in al-Ramla and al-Lid in Israel under the pretext they do not have licenses for residency and staying.

Also, the supreme Israeli court issued a decision permits the Israeli army to demolish 42 houses for Palestinians under the pretext of resisting Israel.

The Palestinians retaliated by detonating a large explosive when an Israeli armored vehicle was running at the northern entrance of Toulkarem city. The also detonated another explosive in the same area, as the Israeli forces started to open fire randomly at the houses of the Palestinians. The Palestinians fired one shell at Ghoushe Katieve settlement and threw explosives and mortars at Israeli positions in Gaza.

Meantime, the Palestinian Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements rejected the security plan, proposed by Israel's Defense Minister Benyamin Ben Eliezer to the interior official in the Palestinian Authority Abdul Razzaq al-Yahya, and described such Israeli proposals as means to eliminate international criticism against Israel, and to save more time for more acts of killing and destruction against the Palestinians.

One of Hamas's leaders Ismael Abu Shanab said "the project of Gaza's first proposed by Ben Eliezer (defense minister) is rejected because we are all fighting for liberation from occupation wherever it does exist."

Israel's Defense Minister Ben Eliezer said on Tuesday that next week a security fence will be installed along the Palestinian territories at a length of 90 Km.
