Musharraf, Bin Alawi discuss conditions in Iraq, Palestine

President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf has received a message from OmanŐs Sultan Qaboos bin Said. This was during his meeting on Monday in Islam Abad with Oman's foreign minister Youssef Bin Alawi. No information were disclosed on the content of the message.
Pakistani official sources said the two sides discussed during the meeting current conditions in southern east Asia in light of the continued tensions between Pakistan and India, besides the developments in Afghanistan, and the current situation in the Middle East region. Musharraf also reviewed with Bin Alawi certain issues relating to bilateral relations between Pakistan and Oman and means of strengthening joint cooperation between the two countries especially at the economic and trade level.
Bin Alawi's visit to Pakistan comes just four days after Pakistan had delivered five- Pakistani made planes of "Super Moshak " type to Oman, in an official ceremony in Islam Abad in a implementation of a deal the two countries signed in December 2001. The Pakistani made "Super Moshak" plane are used in purposes relating to air monitoring of border areas and cross-border crossing as well as training.
The Pakistani minister of state for foreign affairs Inam al-Haq on Monday in Islam Abad discussed with Bin Alawi who is in a two- day official visit to Pakistan, conditions in the regions of the Gulf, the Middle East and southern Asia. The two sides also discussed means of strengthening joint cooperation between Pakistan and Oman in various fields.
Sources at the Pakistani foreign ministry said that Inam al-Haq briefed the Omani minister with the measures taken by Pakistan to eliminate tensions along the borders with India and the control line separating the two parts of the divided Kashmir, under disputes between the two countries.
