Syria: new gas well in west of Palmyra

The minister of oil and mineral resources in Syria Ibrahim Haddad has announced the discovery of a new gas well to the west of Palmyra. This is the second gas well to be discovered within three months by the Croatian EINA company, which has contracted with the Syrian side for gas drilling operations.
In a statement to SANA's correspondent, the Syrian minister said that the discovered well production capacity is estimated at 250,000 cubic meters daily, according to a preliminary study.
He expressed his hope that a third well be discovered in the region, adding that if a fourth such well is discovered, a very important gas source will be attained in the region at a production capacity of one million cubic meters daily.
